About the Gerbers
The Gerber Family Blog is the online home of Pat and Katie Gerber and our daughter Hannah. We are like most young families, busy working, caring for our daughter, keeping up our home, paying the bills, and spending time with friends and family. This page is to fill you in on some of the things that make us unique.
Patrick Gerber
I grew up in Columbus, Ohio and went to college in Cincinnati. I have a BS in Biblical Studies from Cincinnati Bible College and an Associates Degree in Photography from Antonelli College. Since 2000, I have been in ministry at CMF International. CMF is a missionary organization with over 150 missionaries in 18 different countries around the world. As Media and Technology Coordinator, I help create multimedia for those missionaries and equip them with the technology that they need to communicate effectively with their supporters. Occasionally I travel to these countries (7 so far!) to shoot photos/videos. I'm also busy on staff at our church, East 91st Street Christian Church, part time as the Technical Director of KidsWorld Ministries. Some might call me Mac computer geek, I prefer the term enthusiast. I also help Mac users though MacsOut.
Katie Gerber
Katie grew up in Fort Recovery, a rural town in western Ohio and also went to college in Cincinnati. Although Katie went to school for trumpet performance, she has her BS in Biblical Studies from Cincinnati Bible College in education. We met (and fell in love) as students at CBC. After our wedding in 2001, Katie joined the staff of East 91st Street Christian Church doing children's ministry. For the last several years, she has specialized in pre-teen ministry (5th-6th grade). Her ministry recently changed to focus on leading the kids' large group worship services. Katie loves chick-flicks, good books, and the challenge of a Martha Stewart craft or recipe.
Hannah Gerber
Hannah was born May 2, 2005. Since then she has amazed us with her big blue eyes, the constant addition of new tricks, and now imaginary friends. Hannah loves books, coloring, movies, anything pretend, and being spoiled by friends and family!
